Magnet Turtle- Green Fabric 44mm (Kopie)

    Price: CHF 5.00

This magnet shows the white silhouette of a European pond turtle (Emys orbicularis) on a green fabric. Diameter is 44mm (1.73").

Fun fact: During winter they spend most of the time at the bottom of ponds where their metabolism slows right down almost to a standstill. During this period they use very little oxygen which they can also get out of the water through blood-rich skin inside their cloaca.

    More interesting facts

Reptiles are cold-blooded vertebrates characterized by scales or scutes covering their bodies. Snakes, turtles, lizards, and crocodiles are examples of reptiles. Their key feature is the ability to control body temperature through external sources, such as basking in the sun. Unlike amphibians, reptiles have impermeable skin and rely on lungs for respiration. Reproduction in reptiles varies, with some laying eggs and others giving birth to live young. Adapted to diverse environments, reptiles play crucial roles in ecosystems, often occupying terrestrial habitats.
